Is There An Issue With Etisalat's 200mb Bundle Plan?

$

Today I have spent over 3000 within 30 minutes for etisalat 200mb internet bundle plan valued at #1000 each just to check for quick update online before buying my regular internet bundles. To my greatest surprise after 2 minutes the bundle has disappeared. Check my modem and found out it has received 260mb meaning it has been working since. What a scam joke. Bought another the same thing. Contacted a friend and he confirmed the same issue and warned me I flee from Etisalat 200mb plan. was thinking since the problem was emanating from my laptop or modem but etisalat is the root cause...I PUT OFF ALL RUNNING PROGRAMMES ON MY COMPUTER INCLUDING AUTOMATIC UPDATES TO BE WELL CONVINCE WHERE THE PROBLEM IS FROM look like they programmed this to drill subscribers of their hard earned money.

Things Men Don't Want To Hear You Say To Them

1. My friend is pregnant or engaged.

This seems harmless enough right? But in truth this statement really means, "When will we be engaged/pregnant?"

So be prepared with an expert diversion such as faking a seizure when you hear that. Unfortunately, nothing will help you when she comes at you with the even more chilling...

"I'm pregnant."

Good luck, buddy.

2. My parents want to meet you.

Well from my understanding this could mean just two things:

a- The relationship has crossed an important milestone of seriousness.
b- You're about to be placed under the family scrutiny microscope.

At this point all you can do is hope her father doesn't mention that he has some rusty wire cutters he wants to put to use.

3. I have a headache.

That means no action for you tonight, buddy. But you can beat her to it. If you sense she's particularly tired when you're Hot, give her an unsolicited aspirin. If she says, "But I don't have a headache," ahaa!! you guessed right. What next?

4. I've been thinking.

If she actually tells you she's been thinking, it's definitely serious. And you can bet it involves marriage or cohabitation, or the bitter end. And this comes in different forms and colors such as: "Why do you love me?" and "Have you ever thought about the future?" Again, have a brilliant exit plan at hand, you could really use it.

5. We need to talk.

What everyone should know about these words is that no good news ever follows. These four ominous words signal a problem with the relationship. Expect a breakup, or at the very least a long talk about how you're not meeting her needs. Either way, it's not pleasant. And there is little you can do to avoid it.

Experts Warn Nigerians Over Viagra Drinks

$
0

The hidden bottles of so-called 'viagra' drinks sell for about $2 and are much sought-after for their supposed aphrodisiac qualities.

But medical professionals warn that rather than enhancing intimate prowess, regular users could be putting their long-term health at risk.

"Sales are high because of good patronage," Ajibade, 27, told AFP.

"Most of my customers are manual labourers who need to boost their energy in bed after a hard day's job under mostly inclement weather."

Hundreds of hawkers ply the bustling streets of Lagos and other Nigerian towns and cities selling such "viagra" drinks, despite their unknown and untested effects on the male sex drive.

"They are creating health problems for themselves," warned the dean of the University of Lagos' faculty of pharmacy, Olukemi Odukoya.

"Unknown to them, some of these liquids have chemical substances which can cause liver or kidney problems, which are very expensive and difficult to manage."

Viagra, taken to treat erectile dysfunction, costs between $5 and $11 per little blue pill in Nigeria - way beyond the means of most people who live on just $2 a day.

As a result, that creates a ready market for cheaper, apparent alternatives.

Besides the locally produced $2 bottles, others are imported, including so-called Alomo bitters which come from Ghana.

The Ghanian liquid is a blend of rich medicinal herbs and roots that are believed to cure back pains and piles but are considered an aphrodisiac in Nigeria.

Bootleg versions of the drink - with 42 percent alcoholic content - are available in the local market for about $4 for a 750 millilitre bottle.

Such drinks - all with names promising a nirvana of intimate potency - flood the Nigerian market every day, mostly via the country's porous borders and seaports or past officials who turn a blind eye.

"I feel high and alright each time I have sex after consuming 'koboko' (horse whip) or 'kondo' (baton) drinks and my partner gives me a feeling of satisfaction," said one young motor mechanic after buying a bottle.

Similar "aphrodisiac" drinks are found in other West African countries such as Togo and Benin under names such "XXL", "Rox" and "Atomic", finding a ready market of young male consumers.

There is no official control and medical warnings against their consumption are regularly ignored.

A senior lecturer in clinical pharmacy studies at the University of Lagos, Aderemi Williams, said no known scientific studies have been carried out on the drinks.

But reports indicate they could be harmful.

Most have not been tested or approved by Nigeria's National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) regulator and accreditation can be faked by unscrupulous distributors.

"We therefore cannot vouch for their efficacy," said the agency's spokesman, Abubakar Jimoh.

"We are really concerned about the distribution of these illicit drugs and we are trying our best to put it in check."

Health professionals warned that possible side effects could include anaemia, increased risk of cancer and stroke, cirrhosis and reduced fertility, as well as enlargement of the prostate gland.

"If they were good, we would have them on our hospital shelves, dispensaries and pharmacies," said pharmacist Kunle Abifarin.

"And I am sure that most of them are not formally approved by the regulatory agencies."

Nigeria has a wider problem with fake and adulterated drugs, with officials estimating that more than 70 percent of medication is bogus.

NAFDAC has arrested and prosecuted dozens of suspected dealers in counterfeit drugs and herbal products, destroyed seized goods and closed shops and warehouses where they were distributed, said Jimoh.

One University of Lagos clinical pharmacist said that instead of enhancing libido, regular drinkers of liquid aphrodisiacs may be risking their future fertility - and even life.

"They (consumers of the drinks) are only courting cheap death and creating employment for grave diggers," he added on condition of anonymity.

But Moruf Adeyemi, 29, a mechanic in the run-down Lagos district of Obalende, is unperturbed about the potential risks - and is convinced that they aid his performance in bed.

"Each of us has to die somehow. I don't believe the consumption of these sex-enhancing drinks has any side-effects," he said.

"My wife commends my performance in bed when I take them and that gives me joy."

Inter are reportedly leading the chase for the Nigerian, with sources saying Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, Wolfsburg and Valencia also interested.

Inter though, are in the fore front of the race to sign the Nigerian, and they reinforced that position by sending representatives to London to meet with Chelsea after Tuesday's Champions League game.

But John Shittu, who represents the player, told KickOffNigeria.com it was all speculation.

"As far as we are concerned, this is all speculation. Of course it is normal for clubs to show interest," Shittu said.

"But the player has not said he wants to leave, and the club has not said they want him to go.

"There is always contact all the time from different clubs here and there, but he still has three years left on his contract."

Arsenal Vs Swansea 2 - 2 - (Full Time)!

Arsenal will be looking forward to forget their demolition at the Stamford Bridge against Chelsea as they host Swansea City in the premier league in the midweek clash.

Arsene Wenger’s 1000th game for the club ended with a demoralizing 6-0 loss as they were thumped by the hands of Chelsea on Saturday.

Having conceded three goals and being a man lesser right in the 17th minute of the game, referee Andre Marriner sent the wrong player- Gibbs instead of Alex Oxlade Chamberlain which will see Gibbs sidelined for the upcoming game.

The way Arsenal is getting defeated at the hands of top team also shows that they are almost out of the title race, however, they’d surely be looking forward to book a place in the top 4 to enjoy European football next season. They’ll be welcoming beleaguered Swansea City side at home turfs.

The loss in the last match puts Arsenal seven points behind league leaders Chelsea while a win this term will help them reduce the gap to four points which makes European hopes alive.

Having won 10 and drawn 3 out of their 13 games in the premier league, Arsenal have went on to progress impressively at home after the 3-1 defeat against Aston Villa at the opening day.

On the other hand, Swansea City have been really poor away home having drawn three and lost six in their last nine away matches in top flight this season.

Garry Monk has not won a game in all competitions after a 3-0 win over Cardiff City during his first game in charge on February 8th.

Ranked 15th in the premier league table, they are just four points away from the relegation danger while a 3-2 loss against Everton has shattered them more this year as they don’t have a win in any of their last eight matches.

Michu, whose double earned a victory on the first day incharge for Monk will be making a return and he’ll surely be looking forward to get a key role in the game.

Jonjo Shelvey will also be playing for the Swansea side after recovering from a hamstring problem while Oxalade Chamberlain is set to be suspended for the hosts. Midfield trio Ozil, Jack Wilshere and Ramsey are all out injured for the home side.

BARCLAYS PREMIER LEAGUE-MATCH WEEK 30

Tue 25 Mar 2014, Old Trafford
Kick-off 19:45
Referee: Michael Oliver

MATCH PREVIEW

Manchester United have won back to back games without conceding a goal as they prepare to face their rivals, Manchester City in the Premier League. Historically, at this stage of the season, this would be a game which would have a bearing on United’s title chances whilst recently it would have impinged on both club’s quest for the Championship.

That’s not the case on Tuesday, though, as the hosts are well behind in the title race but they will still have a say in its destination – starting with this match against their neighbours.

After qualifying for the quarter finals of the Champions League with a 3-0 second leg success over Olympiakos last midweek, David Moyes’ men got back on track in the league away to West Ham with a comfortable 2-0 victory.

Both of those wins were very much needed on the back of a humiliating 3-0 home loss to arch rivals Liverpool in their last Premier League home game.

United fans will not want to suffer another embarrassment at the hands of one
of their enemies.

After losing to Wigan in the FA Cup (again) and exiting the Champions League to Barcelona in a matter of days, Manchester City only have the title race to content themselves between now and the end of the season.

Of course, the blue half of Manchester have
already tasted success in the League Cup but it won’t count for much if they can’t go on and win their second league title in three seasons. Despite not being at their best in the 5-0 win over Fulham on Saturday, Manuel Pellegrini’s team were far too good for their London opponents and eased past them
with the minimal of fuss.

That match followed a very important and resolute 2-0 away victory at Hull after
going down to 10 men in the first half. Both victories suggest that City have recovered from their mini-slump but they will have to be at the top of their game as they have to travel to Arsenal after the derby match this coming week.

United will have horrible memories of the first fixture between these two sides when City romped to a 4-1 win at the Etihad back in September. It was, of course, Moyes first experience of the Manchester derby and
one he will be looking to avenge back on home turf. He’ll have to do so without Robin van Persie who was stretchered off in the Champions League match last Wednesday after notching the hat-trick which
secured his side’s passage.

Who replaces him remains to be seen but it places even more emphasis
on Wayne Rooney.

One man who has really flourished since Pellegrini took charge in the summer is Yaya Toure. Despite being extremely impressive at times in his first two seasons, the Ivorian has often been accused of inconsistency. That’s not a criticism which can be levelled at him this season, though. His hat-trick on Saturday took him to 20 goals for the season, a tremendous return for a midfielder. His real strength
is going forward and that may result in his manager deploying another defensive midfielder alongside Fernandinho to allow Toure more freedom to get forward and make the difference once again.

United have come up short in recent months against Chelsea and Liverpool so the players and manager will be looking to prove that they are capable of playing and competing against the top sides. City have games in hand over their title rivals but they’re only too
well aware of how significant this match on Tuesday could be to their title chances. Lose and they could find themselves right up against it before the Arsenal game.

If they can win the match it would be provide
huge confidence going into that game. As much as United have improved in the last couple of
games, the standard of opposition is nothing
compared to what they face in City.

United’s defence struggled to contain Olympiakos at times last week whilst the pace of Liverpool overwhelmed them only a
few days prior.

City have threats throughout their team and I think they’ll have too much for their neighbours once again.

Can Dangote Become The World’s Richest Man?

$
0
0
It was in July 2007 that Aliko Dangote’s name first hit the Forbes record when he countered a rating that placed Oprah Winfrey as the richest black person on earth. Hear him

“I wouldn’t call myself the richest man in Africa. I would allow Forbes magazine to say so. But I have seen them saying Oprah Winfrey is the richest black person in the world, and she is worth $1.5billion. I think by the grace of God I am much, much, richer than her. But the other one about Africa, I would wait for Forbes magazine to come out with their rating. I think the picture would become clearer towards the end of the year. And they would publish by February. So we keep our fingers crossed”

A poll was conducted back then in Nairaland to ascertain their opinion and 57% voted Dangote richest in their opinion while 42% voted Oprah.

http://www.nairaland.com/64811/dangote-im-worth-much-more

Then came the next Forbes ranking in 2008 where Dangote was listed for the first time as the world’s 334th richest person. See link:

http://www.forbes.com/lists/2008/10/billionaires08_Aliko-Dangote_64RI.html

ever since that rating Dangote has jumped from #334 in 2008 to #43 in 2013 and now #25 in their recent ranking. This quatum leap leaves a lot of questions in my mind on the credibility or even reliability of the Forbes record

1. Did Dangote have to announce to the whole world that he was rich to be recognized by Forbes. Is it a poor coverage of Africa’s potential or sheer oversight

2. How come in less than 7 years someone rose from zero to 334 and suddenly 25 above Abrahmovich who has been in that list for years? Is it that Dangote suddenly became richer than Abrahmovich in 7 years

3. Finally, with this quantum leap, is it likely to hear from Forbes soon that Dangote is now the richest man on earth
I welcome your opinion. Lets yarn!

PPPRA Cautions Nigerians Against Panic Buying: Says PMS Marketers Have Been Paid

Fuel scarcity: PPPRA cautions Nigerians against panic buying

The nationwide petrol scarcity has been on for over two months.
The Executive Secretary, Petroleum Products Pricing and Regulatory Agency, (PPPRA), Ahmed Farouk, has urged Nigerians to stop panic buying of petrol.
He announced that more than nine vessels are currently discharging the product across the country.
Mr. Farouk, who made this known on Tuesday in Abuja, when he appeared before the Senate Committee on Petroleum (Downstream), said that about 200 million litres of the product would soon be released into the market.
He, therefore, urged Nigerians to remain calm adding that there was adequate supply of petroleum product at depots across the country.
“As it is today, from our report, we have over nine vessels currently engaged in discharging products in various depots across the country; from Calabar to Oghara.
“We have Lissa depot which is discharging for Oando.
“We have Atlas Cove vessels discharging for PPMC. We have vessels discharging in Apapa. So, all in all, we have over 200 million litres being discharged by various vessels currently as at today.
“So, there is no need for any panic because we have the product there. The general public should be calm and go about their normal businesses.
He admitted that the delay in the payment of oil marketers was responsible for the initial fuel crisis but explained all outstanding debts had been settled by the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation and the Federal Ministry of Finance.
According to him, all pending payments due to oil marketers have been paid as at last week, assuring that Nigerians would not experience scarcity again
.
A member of the Senate Committee on Petroleum, downstream, Danjuma Goje, decried the inability of the authorities to resolve the problem surrounding the importation of petroleum products into the country.
The development, he said, brought unnecessary suffering on the people.
“I will advise the Ministry of Finance or the NNPC or whatever agency is responsible for paying the importers, to do their work promptly so that we don’t experience this kind of fuel scarcity again,” he said.
The Chairman of the Committee, Magnus Abe, said that considering the assurances given by the PPPRA boss, the country had no cause to witness another fuel scarcity again.
“So, we can take your word for it that products are available and that there is no need for the public to panic.
“We need to confirm from PPMC exactly what is being done to ensure that these products are effectively distributed across the country,” he said.

Brazil 2014: Keshi Approves Wives, Says NO To Girlfriends

Super Eagles coach Stephen Keshi gave the green light yesterday that married players could go to the World Cup with their wives but ruled out single players going with their girlfriends.

Speaking at the Tom Tom Roundtable Tuesday, Keshi said that WAGs – Wives and Girlfriends are good for the players but would not tolerate girlfriends in Brazil.
‘’In any civilized country, WAGs are always allowed to accompany their husbands to the World Cup. In 9994, Westerhof allowed us go with our wives. Married men in the Eagles can go with their wives but there will be no room for girlfriends’’, he said as many single girls in the audience protested mildly.

10 Features To Expect In Smartphones Of The Future

$
0
0
From the rate at which technology advances, it would be difficult to predict what lies ahead. However, there are certain features that are speculated to be minimal requirements for smartphones of the feature. These devices are speculated to be more powerful, smarter, and faster than the average computer. In this article i'll show you 10 features we are to expect in smartphones of the future.

1. Flexible Screens

In the future, smartphones would be flexible and bendable, providing bigger display for movie viewing or gaming while maintaining a pocketable size, all owing to new materials like elastor polymer, flexible circuit boards and battery reconfigurations.

Samsung showcased the world’s first foldable AMOLED display at a private event during CES 2014, ETNews reports. The 5.68-inch high resolution prototype is reportedly made of new plastic substrate, which allows displays to be extremely thin and flexible. In addition, Samsung has successfully implemented touchscreen functionality into its flexible display (ibtimes.com).

2. Indoor Positioning System (IPS)

Smartphones of the future are expected to be equipped with an Indoor positioning system (IPS) which enables the smartphone user to wirelessly locate objects or people within a building. This could be particularly useful for tracking and safety purposes.

3. 3D Screens

Smartphones may have already reached the peak for their screen resolution with Apple’s ‘Retina Display‘, which actually provides a resolution that is sharper than what the human eye can perceive. Yet, even then, we still want more. Mobile companies are now moving from 2D future-features-smart-phones/ to 3D future-features-smart-phones/ for the smartphone screen. At present, we have a couple of 3D smartphones in the market, such as the LG Optimus 3D, the Motorola MT810 as well as the very first Samsung AMOLED 3D (hongkiat.com)

4. Augumented Reality

Augmented reality (AR) is cutting-edge technology that allows for a digitally enhanced view of the real world, connecting you with more meaningful content in your everyday life. With the camera and sensors in a smartphone or tablet, AR adds layers of digital information – videos, photos, sounds – directly on top of items in the world around us(layar.com). This feature would be integrated in future smartphones providing you with information about an item or location saving you the stress of having to call a friend or checking the internet.

5. Ultra Fast Processors

In the future, smartphones are going to the faster and more powerful than a desk computer. Intel researchers are working on a 48-core processor for smartphones and tablets — making them many times more powerful than today’s desktop computers within the next five to ten years (Kurzweilai.net).

6. Computational Cameras

In five years, point-and-shoot digital cameras will be as antiquated as film cameras are now. That's because smartphone cameras will not be digital but computational, able to react almost as the human eye does, to almost instantaneously focus, track objects and adjust to variant lighting conditions. This ability will be made possible by technologies evolved from advances such as Nvidia's Chimera and DigitalOptics’ MEMS autofocus technologies(livescience.com).

7. Seamless Voice Control

Voice control has been receiving much attention since Siri made headlines. Siri might have signaled a breakthrough to the way voice control and recognition programming ought to be, however, smartphones of the future are expected to combine voice and gestures to take interactivity to a whole new level.

8. Improved Transflexive LCD Screens

The need for a smartphone screen to stand up to sunlight is too acute to go unsolved, so we'll smartphones with transflexive LCD displays that reflect ambient light and rendering bright and colorful display even in sunlight.

9. Advanced 4G LTE/5G

Around 2001, third generation (3G) devices appeared, first in Japan, and then in the US, offering the high-speed data transfer and Internet connection used in the earliest smartphones. The first 4G LTE and WiMAX networks appeared in 2011.

Given the natural decade-long development cycle, fifth generation (5G) networks are due around 2021. But South Korea, the world’s most enthusiastic adaptor of mobile technology, is pushing the envelope and plans to roll out a 5G network as early as 2017, with full availability by 2020 (tech.co)

5G wireless networks will support 1,000-fold gains in capacity, connections for at least 100 billion devices, and a 10 Gb/s individual user experience capable of extremely low latency and response times.

10. In-Built Projector

If flexible screens are not enough to compensate for the small screens on smartphones why not integrate a projector within? Samsung Galaxy Beam was released back in the second half of 2010. It features a built-in DLP (Digital Light Projection) WVGA projector that is able to project future-features-smart-phones/ at up to 50 inches in size at 15 lumens(hongkiat.com). With this feature you can do more with your smartphone on a projected bigger screen like make a presentation or watch movies.
