I Can Help You Discipline Your ‘Powerful’ Appointees - Fayose Tells Buhari

Ayodele Fayose, Ekiti state governor, says he is ready to help President Muhammadu Buhari discipline his “powerful” political appointees.

Fayose said this in a statement issued by Idowu Adelusi, his media aide, on Friday.

He said Nigerians were beginning to believe the statement of Aisha, the president’s wife, that a cabal had taken over the government.

Fayose’s latest onslaught is coming a day after he promised Babatunde Fashola, minister of power, works and housing, that he would tone down his criticism of the president.

In the statement, the governor said the refusal of Hameed Ali, comptroller-general of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), to wear a uniform for an appearance at the senate was shameful, and that it portrayed the Buhari-led administration in a bad light.

He then volunteered himself to help curb the excesses of some of his appointees.
“Governance has been reduced to a theatre of the absurd. These appointees of yours are needlessly and embarrassingly flexing muscles and are heating up the polity. They appear to be having fun and regaling themselves at the expense of the nation,” he said.

“The economy has collapsed and the people are suffering. There is hunger and anger never before witnessed in the land. Yet, presidential appointees are preoccupied with trivialities and inanities. Wearing of uniform has suddenly become a supreme court matter. Why a man who will not wear uniform went to take a uniformed job beggars belief.

“How someone who has so little respect and scanty regard for an organisation like the Nigeria Customs Service should be made to head the same organisation must baffle right-thinking Nigerians. In other societies where people have a sense of decency and decorum, people with such irreconcilable differences would honourably resign their position.

“And where a government finds itself unable to effectively govern, as we appear to have here on our hands, it behoves the head of that government to do the needful.

“Mr President, I, Ayo Fayose, volunteer to help you in this regard. As a state governor, I cannot brook a tenth of what you are taking from your appointees. None of my appointees can disrespect and disparage the Ekiti state house of assembly like your appointees are doing to the national assembly.

“Mr President, let it not be said that you have lost grip of your government. Nigerians are beginning to believe, as a statement of fact, your wife’s allegation that a cabal has taken over your government.”

He urged the president to rein in his appointees because they appeared more powerful than he is.
“Your defence that your wife belongs in ‘the other room’ now rings hollow in the ears of Nigerians. The saying is that he who appoints can also disappoint,” he said.

“Your appointees are your creation and it is an aberration when they become greater and more powerful than you. Mr President, the tail is wagging the dog right now. You must take effective and firm action to reverse this ugly and unwholesome trend. I am also the head of a government and I know how it works.

“The ‘consortium of presidents’ around you, as Nigerians now derisively refer to those ‘powerful’ and larger-than-life appointees of yours who take delight in riding roughshod over the polity and desecrating the hallowed chambers of justice, must be cut to size.”

Fayose assured the president that Nigerians were ready to queue behind him “to put an end to your appointees’ shenanigans”.

“Did you listen to what a distinguished senator of the federal republic said this week on the floor of the red chamber; that for the 49 (sic) days that you were away on medical leave in London, your appointees were gentle and behaved themselves and there were no killings in any part of the country by rampaging herdsmen; but now you are back and the troubles are back with us again? We all prayed for your quick recovery and swift return to office. Must we now regret doing so?”

A Nairalander's Experience At An Accredited JAMB Center Today In Warri

Good Evening Ladies and Gent,
I went to Benchill Schools today to get my JAMB form being the only accredited center in warri. When I arrived at the school, the turn out of was low unlike the crowd I expected. I was directed to an office where you will create you jamb profile if you have not done yours for a fee of N100, I had already created an account before going to the school but I was told I will still pay the Hundred naira. I paid and then collected a JAMB registration template. I headed to the other office when the e-pins are bought and the application processed and I was told that everything is #6200, #5500 for the e-pin and #700 for the book. I was surprised because I read it online that it was #5500 for both the e-pin and book. I had no choice but to pay then I was given just the required novel IN DEPENDENT by Sarah Ladipo Manyika and nothing more, no jamb brochure, no syllabus. I asked for it but I was told I was too inquisitive that it's not available. I was told to come on Monday for thumb printing.

After everything I was just thinking deep, why is the price higher than the one slated by the exam board (JAMB)? why did they give me just a novel when I am entitled to other things? That was the questions running in my head when I left.

Sometime in September 2016, Omoni Oboli was accused of copyright infringement for the Okafor's Law title she gave her movie, by a Canada based writer, Jude Idada. The nollywood actress Omoni Oboli was also accused of stealing his story and idea for her new movie "Okafor's Law."
Idada revealed this in an exclusive interview with TNS. He also stated that Oboli copied his idea for her directorial debut, "Being Mrs Elliott."

However, the actress/producer maintained her silence and went on to promote and allegedly set a release date for the movie for March 31st with the premiere today, even after a demand letter was sent, and the matter was taken to court for the copyright infringement and trademark violation.
Today, an injunction was gotten to prevent Okafor's Law premiere and also the release on the 31st of March, in the case in which Omoni Oboli, Dioni Visions & Filmone Distribution are the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Defendants respectively. Omoni Oboli has however cancelled the premiere today, as she will be guilty of disregarding the order of the court and might be charged for contempt of court order.

"6 Places You Should Never Toast A Nigerian Girl"

$
0
0
Some Nigerian guys tend to toast (woo) any girl they are interested in without even considering the time and place. Not minding the location and with so much confidence, they approach you and begin to run their mouths, spitting lines they have specially practiced for wooing girls. Oftentimes, the thinking of certain guys is that they want to take the opportunity to toast the girl as they may not meet her again. That’s true. However, you should be conscious of the places you intend to hit on a woman. Jumia Travel, the leading online bo0king agency identifies 6 places you should never toast a girl.

Hospital

Even if she is Miss Nigeria, you should not toast a girl at the hospital. You don’t know her purpose at the hospital. You appear from nowhere to woo her. You are just disturbing her and wasting your time as she will not answer you.

At work

You hear what it is called work. She is very busy at work and you still want to collect her number or you want to ask her out? She will just ignore you and at the end of the whole episode, you will be embarrassed. Well, some girls will have pity on you and walk you out.

Church/Mosque

The Church is a place to listen to the word of God and receive anointing. The same for the mosque. These places are not hubs for chasing women. But it is today. That doesn’t it make right.

In danfo buses/BRT Stations

Imagine in serious traffic (even when there is no traffic) inside one of those Lagos’s rickety danfos and these guy sitting beside is trying to get your attention. The girl will even be angry that under such harrowing and uncomfortable situation you are toasting her. What she just wants is to get home. You are a distraction. For BRT stations, you see a girl standing in a long queue, you want to woo her. That is a wrong time.

Cinema

We all go to the cinema for different reasons. Some go there to search for potential lovers. But the cinema is a place where you to enjoy the movie you paid for and leave. So, enjoy your movie and when it is over you can go talk to whomever you are interested in. Don’t do this immediately after the movie, though.

Her father’s house

When a Nigerian father sees their daughter with a man, they think about all sorts of things like she has joined bad gang. Most of which are negative. Hence, quite a number of girls don’t like guys wooing them in front of their father’s house especially if they are meeting you for the first time.

The short code is 4900, instead of calling with 4900 which many users won't pick up, the 08030004900 was introduced.

I myself have picked the call recently, you hear a promotional message and it's not in any way related to the lagoon - suicide.

Lady Gets Drunk, Passes Out & Poops On Herself At Bachelorrete Party (Graphic Pic)

A picture shared on snapchat that's been making the rounds on social media shows a woman in lingerie on the floor of someone’s house — said to have passed out. She’s resting on some kind of blanket or pillow, suggesting she’s been in that position for some time. There is a thick pile of poop on her bum cheeks and upper legs. And there are Nike sneakers with tissue paper in them next to her head, indicating they are new.

Those sharing the photos claim this took place at a bachelor party, and what we’re looking at is a stripper who passed out after having one too many drink.

There have been many past incident of people pooping on themselves when they’ve had too much to drink. The other cause of such is if the person's drink was spiked.

Some people on social media have analysed the consistency of semi-liquid poop, pointing it to a poor diet. According to them, it's a combination of fried food and alcohol for days on end. Well, probably.

Also, another person said the hot pile of mess may have been resting in her bowels for some time now. three— to — four days at the most. And the additional meal and alcohol at the bachelorrete party forced them out uncontrollably after she passed out.

Whatever the case may be, the photo is not for the faint-hearted. So brace yourself....

Reports Of Murder Of Man By Soldiers In Ikorodu Not True - Nigerian Army

$
0
0

The Nigerian army has debunked reports of an alleged murder of one Mr. George by soldiers of 174 battalion in Ikorodu.

This was noted in a statement released on saturday by the director Army Public Relations army Brigadier General Sani Kukasheka Usman.

It reads;

'The attention of the Nigerian Army has been drawn to media reports and photograph of the corpse of one Mr. George of Ogijo, Ogun State, allegedly “murdered” by troops of 174 Battalion Ikorodu. The story and the photograph were ostensibly shared by one Mr. Kenny Abel Adesanya through his twitter handle. However, investigation have confirmed that the allegation is not true, rather it was figment of Mr. Adesanya’s imagination borne out of mischief, hatred for the Nigerian Army and attempt to divert attention from those that committed the dastardly act.

For the avoidance of doubt, the location where the incident took place, Ogijo, is in Ogun State and 174 Battalion does not have any deployment there, neither do any of our troops patrol the area.

To further buttress this fact, a team was despatched to Ogijo Divisional Police Station, Ogun State, to investigate the matter. It was confirmed that the incident dates back to 8th March 2017, one Mr. George (now late), was threatened by the son of his landlady that he will invite his soldier friends to come and beat him for failing to pay his rent which was long overdue. On the said day, the tenant was taken from the compound by three young men and beaten up. The case was reported to Ogijo police station. The parties involved were arrested and their statements taken.

Thereafter, the police wanted to charge the matter to court for which the tenant and the landlady opted for out of court settlement. The young men who carried out the beating were neither arrested nor their identity ascertained by the police. The police claimed the landlady son said he used his friends. The case was however treated as assault and discharged. No report was sent to the military authorities because no soldier was involved.

On 24th March 2017, the said tenant Mr. George died in his house and his corpse was taken to the frontage of the landlady who quickly reported to the Ogijo Police Station. She was arrested and the corpse was deposited at the mortuary. The son of the landlady who is currently at large, is being hunted by the police authority.

Consequently, we wish to call on Mr. Adesanya all other persons that shared the story and the media to understand that Mr. George was not murdered by any soldier, let alone those serving in 174 Battalion and should correct this erroneous impression. Additionally, Mr Adesanya should render an unreserved apology to 174 Battalion in particular and the Nigerian Army, over this false allegation, failure of which would attract legal action against him.
We would like to seize this opportunity to advise that the media and indeed people to always cross check their facts before publication, posting on the web or broadcast.

Thank you for your kind cooperation.
Brigadier General Sani Kukasheka Usman
Director Army Public Relations
