Real Reasons Why Many Nigerians Are Stuck Abroad

$
0
0
These are some general reasons why a lot of Nigerians abroad are unlikely to return home:

▪︎Being Estranged from Family

The longer you stay abroad, the easier it is to lose ties with family over time. This is could be for a number of reasons, mainly being that people naturally just grow apart ... however, many of us unfortunately have a lot of relatives back home who see us as nothing but a means to an end ... there are many betrayal stories of people being scammed by called family members and even cases of witchcraft.. lol.

▪︎Inability to Adapt to the Climate Back Home

Living abroad for a lengthy period of time can make you forget how things are back home. So when you eventually go visiting, the first 2 weeks can be fun and exciting... however, by the third week, the Nigerian climate begins to become exhausting. You start to get agitated by the mediocrity and myopic mindsets of the average person around you... the culture (or lack therein) begins to bother you, the heat, the mosquitos, the extortionate fees for internet use, the lack of electricity, the fake forming of almost every young person... it just gets too much.

▪︎Health Reasons

Those with medical conditions are aware that the health sector in Nigeria is in shambles. As thus, they would rather stay in an environment where their medical needs are met.

▪︎ Introvertedness

Life abroad favours the introvert. In Nigeria, people can be loud, there's not much privacy, people don't mind their business. This is something that a lot of people abroad cannot adapt to ... therefore, they choose to remain abroad.

▪︎ Papers

Some are stuck abroad because of the notoriously known complications of obtaining papers. I don't need to explain this one further.

▪︎ Children

If you've had kids abroad, the thought of moving them back home can be scary as they've already been acclimatised to the lifestyle and upbringing here.

▪︎ Commitments

Those who have gotten married, built a career and bought houses might find it difficult to up and leave what they have laboured for just to return home to an uncertain terrain.

Feel free to add yours.

12 Ways A Nigerian Mother Reacts When You Are Not Ready For Marriage

$
0
0
Nigerian mothers are drama queens. I sometimes wonder why some of them are not Nollywood actress. One little thing, boom, she will start acting as if she wants to die. I thought it was only my mom that’s dramatic until I saw Ada Bekee’s Recent thread.

According to her, every mother has a way of reacting when you tell them you aren’t ready for marriage. Even though some of these reactions are funny, it’s what an average Nigerian faces from his mother.

Here are Nigerian Mother’s reactions when you are not ready for marriage According to Ada Bekee

#1. The Ones Who Won’t React or Show Any Emotion

These mothers understand you better than any other person. They know you are just doing initial ‘gra gra’. After all, when you were young you swore never to eat chicken again after watching your grandpa killed one. Now, your favorite food is grilled chicken and vegetable salad. Nkogheri… That’s what it is. Period.

#2. The Ones Who Immediately Becomes Suspicious

When you tell these Nigerian moms that you aren’t getting married anytime soon, they become suspicious. They will be like, why would a young, handsome, successful, able-bodied man doesn’t want to get married?

She’ll be like, “Bia nwokem, talk to me… Are you gay? Are you in a cult? Are you impotent? What’s the meaning of this madness? Talk to me, I’m your mother.”

#3. The Ones Who Will Take Matters Into Their Own Hands

These Nigerian mothers would always take matters into their own hands. They don’t have time to waste, all they need is a grandchild. So, they don’t have time for a long talk, they will just go and get you a wife with or without your consent. When your madness fades away, your wife would be waiting for you. These mothers don’t take nonsense, either you marry willing or they marry for you.

#4. The Ones Who Would Start Insulting You

These ones are like Patience Ozokwor of Nollywood. She will be like, “Kitikpa racha gi anya there!” “You will not marry na gini me?” “Odika isi gi mebiri emebi, okwa ya?” If care is not taken, she’ll give you one slap to reset your senses or stone you with her slippers.

#5. The Ones Who Would Immediately Invite Pastors To Pray For You

These ones believe that the devil is at work. And whatever is responsible for this demonic declaration would have to be handled through intense deliverance.

#6. The Ones Who Want To Carry Your Grandchildren

These ones are more interested in having grandchildren. So, they would first seek clarification before knowing how best to proceed. She’ll be like, “you say you will not marry? Ngwanu help me understand first… Children Nko? How are you going to do it? Because I must carry my grandchildren!

#7. The Ones Who Would Start To Recall Your History

They will start telling you your history right from the night you were conceived. They will be like “Don’t you know your pregnancy nearly killed me? After carrying you in my womb for 9 months, 2 weeks and days, you have the audacity to tell me you will not marry?”

#8. The Ones Who Will Grab A Knife And Rush Out

These ones are the funniest of them all. Once you tell them you aren’t getting married soon, they would grab a knife, rush out, and wail to everybody that’s willing to hear.

She’ll be like, “Mama Donald! Come and hear wetin this my pikin dey talk! E say him no go marry until him die! Nor be craze dey worry am” Then she’ll proceed to act like she wants to kill herself so they would hold her…

#9. The Ones Who Would Burst Into Prayers Immediately

These ones will reject your claim not to marry anytime soon and start sending fire to all their enemies. To them, this is the handiwork of the devil and God must punish all of them.

#10. The Ones Who Will Start Laughing Scornfully

These ones won’t say much rather than laughing scornfully. After laughing hard until tears come out of her eyes, she’ll be like, “Kai! you are very funny! I didn’t know you were such a comedian.

#11. The Ones Who Will Start Crying Like Someone Died

These Nigerian Mothers will break into tears once you tell them you aren’t ready for marriage. As far as they are concerned, their enemies have finally succeeded.

#12. The Ones Who Will Check If You Are Running Temperature

These ones will always check if you are running temperature. Because for you to spit out such gibberish, you must be having a fever.

I just want a break but I don't want to hurt him.
This isn't the first time its happening to me,
I've had two boyfriends before I met my new bf and same thing happened with them.

Its just like I meet a guy I like..,we love each other and I get excited and then few months later I get irritated by them....

I told my elder sis about it and she dragged me to church saying I have spiritual problems but that's not the issue....

Sometimes I just want my time alone but my bf doesn't seem to understand that.
Have tried to ignore him and all but he doesn't get the message am passing........
He wants me to meet his mum but have been giving him excuses....

I don't know why I feel like this with only the guys I date cuz I don't feel that way with my friends and family in fact I want to be with them everyday but its different in my relationships...
I want to end things with my boyfriend without hurting him cuz I can't keep acting and I can't keep wasting his time.

MURIC Rates Buhari’s Government As "The Best Since Independence"

INDEPENDENCE DAY MESSAGE: BUHARI’S GOVT BEST SINCE INDEPENDENCE - MURIC

1st October, 2019

INDEPENDENCE DAY MESSAGE:
BUHARI’S GOVT BEST SINCE INDEPENDENCE - MURIC

As Nigeria marks its 59th independence anniversary, an Islamic human rights organization has identified the Buhari administration as the best since independence. Making this assertion is the Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) in its independence day message signed by its Director, Professor Ishaq Akintola and circulated to the media on Tuesday, 1st October, 2019.

According to the group, while it is generally agreed that corruption is Nigeria’s numero uno problem, it is only the current administration that has frontally addressed this dangerous cankerworm while President Muhammadu Buhari has been the only ruler who has boldly confronted it.

“We adjudge the Buhari administration as the best in post-independence Nigeria. Everyone agrees that corruption is the bane of Nigeria’s development. All other factors are peripheral but corruption is tangential. This implies that Nigeria will overcome all its challenges once corruption has been reduced to its barest minimum.
“This explains why President Muhammadu Buhari has been consistently consistent in tackling graft since his days as military head of state (1983-85) till today. Apart from the War Against Indiscipline (WAI), the period heralded transparency, probity and accountability in the public sphere.

“Unfortunately corrupt elements in society have also been fighting tooth and nail to frustrate his efforts. These include, but are not limited to, rapaciously greedy civil servants, a superfluously voracious business class and avariciously glutonous politicians.

“They were behind the 1985 coup which ousted the no-nonsense Buhari-Idiagbon regime. That coup was an anti-people action sponsored by established kleptomaniacs and executed by greedy, corrupt and overambitious elements in the military. That singular action also returned Nigeria to the path of unbridled waste, reckless graft and undiluted consumerism.

“Unfortunately the second coming of President Buhari in 2015 as a civilian president was almost castrated as the National Assembly was hijacked from the very beginning courtesy of ‘sarakitisation’ and ‘dogaratisation’ of parliamentary process. The president himself nearly lost his life.

“Notwithstanding this setback, Nigeria is currently witnessing the most massive infrastructural development ever experienced since independence. Roads which have been abandoned for decades are now getting attention. Modern rail system is springing up in many parts of the country.

“Prudent management of resources has been a major characteristic of this administration. Looted funds were recovered and are still being recovered. The current administration plugged all known financial leakages by boldly implementing the Treasury Single Account (TSA) which past regimes hesitated to touch. External reserves which dwindled under other leaders have been rising steadily since the beginning of this administration despite low oil price.

“Accumulated arrears of workers salaries and pensions running into billions of naira were settled by this administration. This included accumulated contractors’ debts such that all major contractors are now back to site. Biafran veterans were paid off. Arrears of pensions of police, railway workers, etc which had been ignored for decades were settled.

“All these were made possible because the leadership is transparent. The funds being used for developmental projects today have always been there but they have always been shared in the past among a corrupt few at the expense of development. For these gargantuan achievements, we declare President Muhammadu Buhari as the Father of Modern Nigeria.

“In spite of rising incidents of killings and kidnappings, we affirm that this regime has paid more attention to security of lives than any other. Whereas no recruitments took place for over ten years before President Buhari took over, this regime has recruited more than 30,000 policemen since 2015.

“While Boko Haram occupied about 17 local governments in Borno State prior to 2015, the insurgent group has been reduced to a hit and run guerilla outfit under the present administration. Also, although the insurgents scored direct hits with heavy casualties in Kano and Abuja before 2015, it has been most effectively confined to the North East since that period.

“MURIC is constrained to assert that Nigerians are the ones hurting fellow Nigerians. For instance, government has no hand in the arbitrary inflation of transport fare during rushing hours. Neither is kidnapping which brings untold suffering to families being carried out by foreigners. Those who kidnap Nigerians are fellow Nigerians. We urge all citizens to be their brothers’ keepers. Nigerians also need to have a change of mindset. Nigerian youth must eschew greed and materialism to embrace hardwork, honesty and integrity.

“MURIC appeals to patriotic Nigerians to rally behind the present administration in its war against corruption and graft. Only thus can the good works be sustained and Nigeria lifted to the category of the world’s developed countries. As a leader who has lived a prudent lifestyle throughout his life, as the only Nigerian president who has no foreign account, no accumulated properties and no stolen funds traced to him, President Buhari deserves the support of Nigerians.

“Before taking a break, MURIC congratulates President Muhammadu Buhari and the Nigerian citizenry on the occasion of the country’s 59th independence anniversary. In view of the unprecedented achievements of the Buhari administration listed above, we affirm clearly, categorically and unambiguously that the Buhari administration has been the best since independence while President Muhammadu Buhari himself is the best president Nigeria has ever had.”

Wonders they say shall never end in the land of the living as strange happenings continue to spring surprises on us in the society.

This is dumbfounding documentary of a male caterer who was robbed, defiled and eventually landed in jail in Lagos.

Ayomide Idowu narrating his ordeal to GTV, said he was picked up by members of the Nigerian police force on a routine check somewhere in CMS.

According to him, he said the incident happened on June 10, 2019 after getting a call from a guy who wanted catering services for his birthday party.

On reaching the said venue for the job, the business client and his friend robbed off the N5000 on him, defiled and kicked him out of the house.

Having no money for transportation, he had to trek from CMS to Ajegunle before the police arrested him without any hearing and handed him over to Alausa task force who eventually got him sentenced him for 2months and 2weeks.

He further stated how a higher court who revisited his case file after been sentenced by a previous court found him not guilty of any wrongdoing and acquitted.
