Disc Jockey, Florence Otedola, popularly known as Dj Cuppy, has shared a photo of herself in tears as she completes her thesis.

Recall that the billionaire heiress, who had been admitted into Oxford university for her master’s degree program, had frequently complained about her thesis.

Cuppy wrote, “Tears of joy. The wait is finally over!!! My THESIS for @UniofOxford is finally 100% done and submitted!!! Not sure why weeping is my reaction right now. I’m so drained that it actually feels so difficult to celebrate.

“Over the last few weeks, I’ve pushed myself so much, both mentally and physically, to actually finish this degree. Truthfully, this has been one of the most challenging experiences of my life… This paper alone has made me want to drop out of Oxford University twice

Court Stops Ganduje From Borrowing ₦10 Billion For CCTV

A Federal High Court in Kano, presided over by Justice Abdullahi Liman, on Friday restrained the Kano State Government from borrowing N10 billion for the installation of Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras.

A coalition of NGOs, the Kano First Forum (KFF) filed a motion exparte dated June 27, sworn by the Director-General of the Association Dr Yusuf Isyaka-Rabiu.

KFF through its counsel, led by Mr Badamasi Suleiman-Gandu, prayed the court to restrain Gov. Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano from borrowing N10 billion loan.

Other respondents in the suit are the Attorney General of Kano State, Commissioner of Finance Kano and Speaker Kano State House of Assembly.

Others are Access Bank, Federal Ministry of Finance, Debt Management Office and Fiscal Responsibility Commission.

Justice Liman granted the prayers of KFF and restrained the first respondent from borrowing the N10 billion loan and ordered all parties to maintain status quo.

He also ordered the plaintiff to serve Federal Ministry of Finance, Debt Management office and Fiscal Responsibility Commission with the order and other court processes.

KFF is challenging the Governor of Kano State from borrowing the sum of N10 billion on the grounds of non-compliance with rules and regulations governing loan transaction.

The applicants in their prayers challenged the state government for not complying with Debt Management Office establishment Act 2003, fiscal responsibility Act 2007 and laws of Kano State 1968.

The adjourned date would be later communicated to both parties in the suit.

NAN reports that the State House of Assembly had on June 15 approved Ganduje’s request to access N10 billion from Access Bank.

Two Armed Robbers Sentenced To Death In Akwa Ibom

An Akwa Ibom State High Court sitting in Uyo, the state capital, on Thursday, sentenced two armed robbers, Donald John Obot, a 35-year-old barber and Blessing Christopher Utah, a 36-year-old ex-convict to death by hanging.

The duo was convicted for conspiring and robbing one Esther Victor Akpan of the sum of N110,000.

They were said to have carried out the operation at Abak road Uyo after their victim withdrew the said amount from her bank in December, 2018.

In their confessional statements, the convicts said they had robbed a man of five hundred thousand naira, another of two hundred thousand naira and a woman at IBB Avenue, of her one hundred and thirty one thousand naira.

The trial judge, Justice Okon Okon, while delivering the judgment, found Donald John Obot and Blessing Christopher Utah guilty of conspiracy and armed robbery.

The Court said, “It is bizarre and unfortunate that armed robbers abused the public transport system and converted their tricycles to perpetrate crime, leaving their innocent victims with harrowing experiences and tales of woes”.

Justice Okon held that the convicts confessed that their meeting point was Federal Secretariat, Uyo, before they proceeded to monitor banks and ATM points, looking for customers withdrawing money.

The leader of the gang and rider of the tricycle used in the operations, is said to have escaped and has not been found till today.

The Court said, “his days are numbered” advising him to use his lucky escape to mend his ways and lifestyle.

Justice Okon ordered that the two defendants should die by hanging and prayed God to have mercy upon their souls.

My Bossom childhood friend was financially down and needed financial assistance because his landlord was suffocating him with his constant nagging. So he contacted me as his old guy and and told me the situation on ground and requested for financial assistance from me. I didn't hesitate in sending him the money which he summed up with the one he had and cleared his house rent.

So, this afternoon, his wife texted me, and in her text, she thanked me for the assistance and requested to pay me a visit and and help me with some of my chores since my wife is in Bayelsa. From the very moment I set my eyes on that text, I haven't been myself knowing fully well that one thing may lead to another during her visit/stay.

That my guy is so dear to me and we treat each other with utmost respect so for this reason, I wouldn't like to loose that respect and trust. This woman is anticipating my response, according to her.

Please house, how do I discourage her from visiting me in my wife's absence without it looking as if I'm avoiding her? What does she want? Who has been in this type of situation and how did you resolve the issue without creating enmity?

Fr Evaristus Shared Photos of The ''Virgin Mary'' As Sighted By NaijaCover And He Said many people including non-Catholics 'saw her image.'

''On Wednesday 22-6-2022 the Blessed Virgin Mary appeared in one of our parishes in Calabar, St. Charles Lwanga. It was something more than 100 people witnessed,even a Protestant pastor who came to visit his cousin, the assistant priest.

He took these pictures. The rays around her were too bright for a clear picture. She moved up to the Shrine dedicated to her and then was taken up. It was amazing, the entire aura around the parish, that evening. She didn’t say anything to anyone. But I think she came to assure of God’s presence with us.

A young lady who reportedly become mentally unstable mysteriously, on Friday stripped herself while barking like a dog in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.

There were reports that the yet-to-be-identified lady might have been diabolically used for money rituals by suspected internet fraudsters.

The Ogun State police command confirmed the incident, saying “the young lady in question was alleged to have been spiritually and diabolically used by a suspected yahoo boy, as a result of which she started barking like a dog.”

The Ogun State police spokesman, Abimbola Oyeyemi, informed that the victim, who was taken to police without any clothes on her, became “very difficult to control because she was acting violently, hence she was kept in the cell.”

Oyeyemi said police had immediately contacted her parents, saying she was taken to the hospital with the help of the police.

He said “the alleged Yahoo boy was immediately arrested for interrogation,” adding that the case which attracted a large crowd to the station was later transferred to the State CIID on the directive of the Commissioner of Police, CP Lanre Bankole.

However, Oyeyemi said the command was surprised and embarrassed to see the video of the victim circulating on social media.

“The height of the embarrassment was the fact that the said video was recorded while the victim, who was then naked and uncontrollable, was in a police cell.

“In view of this, the Commissioner of Police, CP Lanre Bankole has ordered a full-scale investigation to unravel the source of the video and how it became a subject of social media discussion.

“It is barbaric, uncivilized and despicable circulating such video on social media as such will in no small measure denigrate the human dignity of the victim which might be another source of psychological trauma for her.

“The Command has therefore vowed to deal with whoever found to be the source of the video and those behind its circulation on social media in the most decisive manner notwithstanding the status of the person,” Oyeyemi said on Friday.

Doctors suspend surgery procedures as 14 babies die at UPTH’s incubator due to power outages

No less than 14 babies have died at the incubator of the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital, UPTH due to power outage.

This is as some patients at the hospital said some surgery procedures have also been suspended due to irregular power supply.

A medical officer at the hospital who spoke to Standardobservers on the conditions of anonymity said among the dead babies were the twin babies of a woman who had been looking for the fruit of the womb for seven years.

She said the woman gave birth last month but due to the premature nature of the delivery, they were put in an incubator.

“I’m saddened. We lost those twins yesterday (Wednesday) because of power failure at the hospital. More than 14 babies have died at the incubator in the past weeks due to power failure”, she said.

Other patients told our correspondent that they were being referred to private hospitals by doctors due to the poor power situation.

They added that their relatives use their phone light to aid doctors and nurses who are taking care of the person he rushed to the Accident and Emergency Ward.

When contacted for comments, Prof. C. N. Mato, the hospital’s provost declined to comment on the matter.

Tinubu Ignored Me After Stepping Down For Osinbajo – Aspirant (Photo)

A former presidential aspirant of the All Progressives Congress, Dr Nicholas Felix, has raised the alarm that the party’s standard-bearer, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, has shut him out of his campaign ahead of the 2023 general election.

The youngest APC aspirant’s outburst came three weeks after the convention held at Eagle Square in Abuja.

Felix had thrown his weight behind Vice President Yemi Osinbajo after he stepped down at the June 7 presidential primary.

Before he withdrew from the presidential race, Felix described Osinbajo as the ‘best man for the job’, adding that he strongly believed that he could turn the country around positively.

Against his expectation, Tinubu defeated Osinbajo, former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi; Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, and 11 other aspirants to clinch the party’s sole presidential ticket.

“Asiwaju has not reached out to me. Neither has any member of his campaign team. No one has called me. I am about the only candidate Asiwaju has yet to meet. I don’t know the reason. Maybe it was because I stepped down for the vice president or didn’t support the idea of a possible Muslim-Muslim ticket,” he added.

The APC presidential flag bearer had left the shores of the country for France on Monday.

Tinubu departed Nigeria shortly after a closed-door meeting with the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.) at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, in the morning.

Although Tinubu’s spokesman, Tunde Rahman, did not state how long the former Lagos State Governor would be away, there were insinuations that his travel must have something to do with the consultation for his running mate.

When contacted, the spokesman of Bola Tinubu Campaign Organisation, Bayo Onanuga, “Unfortunately, we all know Asiwaju is not in town. But Nigerians are aware of how he visited all the aspirants after the primary. Perhaps (he) was not in town. Maybe he was in America or somewhere. I don’t want to join issues with him.

“If Asiwaju has not reached out to him as he said, I am sure by the time he returns from France, he will cover up whatever gaps exist. I don’t want us to get dragged into that. It is possible that it is even an oversight. As a politician, he doesn’t neglect anybody or sees people as not being important. I am sure it wasn’t a deliberate act or hidden agenda on his part. Everybody is important to him.”

Barely two months after the death of the revered Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi III, one of his wives, Olori Kafayat, has also died on Friday.

Though details of her death is yet to be revealed but sources said the Olori died late Friday night.

Olori Kafayat Adeyemi, who was the fourth Olori of the late Oba Adeyemi III, was the mother of Prince Adebayo Adeyemi (D’Gov), who is the chairman of the Oyo State Local Government Pensions Board.

Before her demise, she was popularly known as Iya Aguo or Iya Ibeji in Oyo Kingdom.

A Popular Nigerian dancer has been shot dead along Okigwe road in Imo State, NaijaCover Reports.

Solo, Whose real name was Solomon Chukwudi, was travelling from Abuja to Aba on Wednesday, June 29, when the vehicle he was in was attacked by gunmen.

Three People were hit in the car and Solo was one of them, NaijaCover Learnt.
