Ramsey Noah has revealed how a female fan once slipped her pant in his pocket while saying he looked so cute.

Speaking with Punch, the actor said the incident which was the most embarrassing in her career happened during a journey to the United States of America.

He said:

“There was a cocktail event many years ago in the United States and I was talking to some dignitaries about business, work and other things when a lady came and whispered in my ear, “You’re so cute” while slipping her hand in my pocket.

As she left, I reached for my pocket to see what she had slipped in and right in front of these dignitaries, I pulled out the panties that she had put in my pocket.

I didn’t know what to do because I couldn’t put it back in my pocket. It didn’t belong there, and I couldn’t just hold it in my hands. It was an awkward situation but we all just laughed it off.”

I had always wanted to be a pilot – Ramsey Nouah
In the interview, Ramsey Nouah also noted that he had always wanted to be a pilot as a result of his flair for engineering

“No! Even though I knew I had a dominant creative side, I was sure I was going to become a pilot or an aeronautic engineer. I was obsessed with planes, machines and gadgets that flew and I knew I had to be involved somehow; whether by actually flying them, creating them or building them so other people could fly them.”

World Cup fever has swept through Franc, with Les Bleus having looked to be the most dominant team in the tournament.

Sure enough, they proved to be exactly that, jumping out to 1-0 lead over Croatia in the World Cup final, and later emerging victorious by a 4-2 margin.

Fans having been going absolutely nuts, and apparently politicians have been as well. French president Emmanuel Macron was at Sunday’s match, watching from the press box with the media around him. It’s safe to say reporters probably weren’t expecting Macron to stand up on a table and raise his fists in celebration.

Benin Republic Releases Seven Detained Nigerian Students Over Cyber Crime

Seven out of the 12 Nigerian students detained on allegations of Cybercrime have been released in Benin Republic, says Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Foreign Affairs and Diaspora.

In a statement, the presidential aide said the findings were contained in a brief sent in by the Nigerian Ambassador in Benin Republic, Kayode Oguntuase, Premium Times reports

In a letter written to a petition by Joke Kujenya from Katsina State UNICEF where it was alleged that over 50 Nigerian students were detained and arrested, Mrs Dabiri-Erewa explained that only 12 were arrested by the police officials without the knowledge of the Embassy in Benin Republic.

Mrs Dabiri-Erewa said the consular officer in Benin Republic, after series of negotiation and entreaties, was able to secure the release of seven students from Aglaganda Police Station on July 5 and efforts are on to secure the release of the remaining five.

The ambassador listed the names of the arrested Nigerian students as Mathew Langgapp, Bayo Oyenuga, Tari Bori, Samuel Akinwande, Dunchi Dennis, Steven Porobunu, Chuckwudi Valentine, Peter Ochani, David Esu, Emmanuel Chukwuneke, Timi Ogunleye and Jacob Oluwatobi.

Mr Oguntuase in his brief to Mrs Dabiri-Erewa said the Aglagandan Commissioner of Police, Mr Gaston, alleged that based on intelligence received, the students were placed on surveillance and they were allegedly caught perpetrating cybercrime.

He added that a meeting had been scheduled with the Porto Novo Tribunal Prosecutor to address the problems of indiscriminate arrest of Nigerians for alleged crimes in the country and a fair trial for those arrested.

Mrs Dabiri-Erewa repeated her pleas to Nigerians in the Diaspora to avoid crime and criminality while ensuring prompt intervention of administration in matters involving Nigerians anywhere in the world.

She, however, implored all Nigerians to be law abiding in their respective abode and shun any act capable of tarnishing the good image of Nigeria.

Another Nigerian allegedly shot dead in South Africa

According to reports coming from South Africa, there has been another killing of a Nigerian in the country. The man identified as Martin Ebuzoeme, was allegedly shot dead by unknown assailant.

The President of Nigerian Union in South Africa, Mr. Adetola Olubola, confirmed to the News Agency of Nigeria in Abuja on Sunday, that the victim was killed in Yeoville, Johannesburg, around 7:30pm on July 12.

The killing came barely 24 hours after the visit of South Africa’s President Cyril Ramaphosa, to Nigeria.

Ramaphosa had during his visit on July 11 said that the killing of Nigerians and other foreign nationals in the country was an act of criminality, not specifically targeted at Nigerians.

”The killings are caused by high level of unemployment among the youth as well as other social factors emanating from long apartheid misrule.

”Government is however, doing all best possible to bring it down,” Ramaphosa had said.

The Nigeria Consul General in Johannesburg, Mr Godwin Adama, said that latest killing did not have anything to do with xenophobic attacks.

Adama told the reporters on phone from Johannesburg that the killing happened in a crime invested area of the country.

”The man was killed by unknown gunmen and has nothing to do with xenophobic.

“The place is a crime prone area and those kind of assassinations happened often in that area.

”There is no investigation that showed that it was xenophobic.

”Within a year here, we have about 16,000 murders which do not necessarily have anything to do with any national of a particular country,” he said.

The killing of Nigerians in South Africa had been on the increase in recent times.

Before the latest one, there was the assassination of Mr Ozumba Tochukwu-Lawrence, by an unknown gunman at 10 Koppe, Middleburg, Mpumalanga, South Africa, on July 6.

Another Nigerian, ThankGod Okoro, was also reportedly shot dead in Hamburg, Florida West Rand, Johannesburg, on April 9 by the South African Police Flying Squad.

There was also the killing of Clement Nwaogu in April, a father of two, who was burnt to death by his assailant.

The wanton killings of Nigerians in South Africa had sparked a number of protests there.

For demanding justice on behalf of their fallen compatriots, 14 of the protesters were taken into custody and branded drug peddlers.

Les Bleus clinched their first title on the global stage since 1998 after defeating the Croats in Moscow.

Nigerians have taken to social media to celebrate France's second Fifa World Cup title after beating Croatia 4-2 at the Luzhniki Stadium.

Didier Deschamps' men outclassed their European counterparts after Mario Mandzukic's own goal and efforts from Antoine Griezmann, Paul Pogba and Kylian Mbappe bagged an all-important victory at this year's global tournament final.

Sunday's victory in Moscow meant Les Bleus had defeated the two opponents that thrashed the Super Eagles in Russia - Argentina [4-3] and Croatia [4-2].

Aside from that, Didier Deschamps' side boast of an array of players of African descent, and Nigerians have taken to Twitter to rejoice as a victory for Africa at large.

Eleka Rejects Ekiti Election Results, Heads To Tribunal

$

Deputy Governor of Ekiti State and candidate of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) in Saturday governorship poll, Kolapo Olusola has rejected the results of the poll as announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), which declared All Progressive Congress (APC) Kayode Fayemi as winner.

Olusola justified his claims with allegations of intimidation, oppression and inducement by security agents which he claimed aided and abetted APC’s alleged manipulation of the electoral process that all gave Fayemi the victory.

He declared his rejection of the poll’s result to Nigerians, Ekiti people and the international community, saying: ” You are all aware of the unfortunate and dangerous events of the past 24 hours, in which our governorship election was hijacked by political desperadoes leveraging on “Federal might” to pervert the electoral process, subvert the will of Ekiti people, and viciously steal the mandate willingly and freely given to me on a massive scale by our people. PDP and I won the election overwhelmingly, receiving more than 70% of lawful votes cast and winning in almost all of the State’s 16 local government areas. I therefore reject the falsified results being bandied by the Independent National Electoral Commission, which purportedly gave the election to the All Progressives Congress and its Candidate; Dr. John Kayode Fayemi,” he said.

Olusola described the alleged manipulation of the poll as:” most audacious electoral robbery of our recent history”, which: “shall not stand”.

He alleged further that APC rigged the poll by leveraging on: ” its well-advertised but patently obnoxious and anti-democratic “Federal might” to intimidate, harass, victimize, oppress, and brutalize PDP leaders, members, and the voting public all over Ekiti “, saying; “This brutal and barbaric process, which started well before the election, did not spare Governor Ayo Fayose and me; as the whole world had seen and had condemned. It is quite unfortunate that the harassment has continued even after the election. ”

Taking on the INEC, Olusola said:”On Saturday, July 14th, the security agencies and INEC upped the ante, threw all caution to the wind, went back on their promises to be impartial and to conduct credible elections; they sided with APC and Fayemi to the chagrin of our party, myself, and the good people of Ekiti State. Despite the alarm we had earlier raised, the security agencies not only supported but also supervised the indiscriminate arrest of our party leaders and agents, the harassment and brutalization of voters on a massive scale, especially in Ado-Ekiti, Ikere and the suburbs, giving cover, tacit as well as active support to thugs imported into Ekiti by APC to snatch ballot boxes, create confusion, cause mayhem, and drive away voters in PDP strongholds, giving cover to APC agents as they financially and openly induced voters and bought votes at polling stations; and driving away our polling agents from collation centres and illegal seizure of documents and materials in their possession, among many other infractions.”

“INEC on its own part reneged on its promise to have results counted, declared, and pasted on the wall of each polling station. There was nowhere INEC transmitted results from the polling centres as earlier promised. Ballot boxes were illegally moved to INEC offices while our agents were disallowed from following the process.

” INEC also allowed late voting by APC in hideouts when it was obvious the figures still would not add up after all the infractions mentioned above. Still, when all of these shenanigans still failed to give them the figures they needed, they stopped the announcement of results ward-by-ward, caused a deliberate power outage at the collation centre, with no alternative source of power provided for a long time, and then wrote results in favour of APC and its candidate.

“Without doubt, what has played out in Ekiti is the APC template for the 2019 General Election, where they have mapped out Rivers and Akwa Ibom as States they must capture at all costs, like they are now trying to do Ekiti. It is now left for the opposition and opposition figures, most especially presidential hopefuls in 2019, to stand up to be counted in the struggle to roll back President Muhammadu Buhari’s creeping fascism, or throw in the towel without a fight.

” This is not just a sad day for Ekiti but also for democracy in Nigeria. Nothing demonstrates this better than the gloom that has enveloped our dear State since they announced their convoluted result. Ekiti mourns! But I ask our people not to be despondent but to keep hope alive, quoting the inimitable Chief MKO Abiola. This is another battle we will fight and win.

“In doing this, however, I appeal to all Ekiti sons and daughters to eschew violence. They will try and provoke you but the good Lord will help you to keep calm. Taking a cue from our great leader and democrat par excellence, ex-President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, I wish to reiterate that my ambition is not worth the blood of a single Ekiti son or daughter. We are not cultists and bloody hounds like them and shall therefore not allow them turn Ekiti into a killing field like they have done in the Middle Belt.

“It remains for me to thank Ekiti for standing by me and our great party. Our royal fathers and the Oloris, teachers, civil servants, Okada riders, Labour leaders, market women, artisans, and students – I appreciate your unflinching support. We thank every Nigerian desirous to see the growth and defence of our renascent democracy.

“We thank the international community for their efforts and trust they will not let our people down in this their most trying moment. Those bent on setting this country on fire for selfish reasons must be restrained and turned back by the international community, mindful of the recent experience of Rwanda, Kosovo, Liberia, Sierra-Leone, Cote D’Ivoire, to mention but a few,” he said

There is wild jubilation and celebration in Paris and other cities in France as the country beat Croatia 4-2 to win soccer’s World Cup in a pulsating final in Moscow.

In the capital, where 90,000 people watched the match on vast TV screens next to the Eiffel tower, there were choruses of the Marseillaise, honking horns and hundreds of thousands of red, white and blue tricolor flags fluttering on the breeze.

The boom of fireworks and firecrackers filled the air, while drivers honked their horns incessantly to celebrate France’s second world title after their triumph on home soil in 1998.

A deafening chorus of “We are the champions, We are the champions” rang out from the Sacre Coeur in the north of the city to the Sorbonne on the Left Bank. Similar scenes erupted in Marseille, Lyon, Lille, Bordeaux and other major cities.

Even before the final whistle, crowds streamed on to the Champs Elysees, the elegant, tree-lined boulevard that runs up to the Arc de Triomphe, the traditional gathering place for celebration, including the Bastille Day parade 24 hours earlier.

The entire area around the Arc de Triomphe, all the way down the two-kilometer-long Champs Elysees and the Place de la Concorde at its end was a sea of singing and cheering people.

“It’s just astonishing what they’ve done,” said Josh, 41, who traveled from Brittany to Paris to watch the match with his girlfriend. “Pogba, Mbappe, Grizou (Griezmann) — they’re on top of the world,” he said, naming three of the standout players.

“We’re the champions of the world! It’s phenomenal, just phenomenal.”

More than 250,000 people were expected to descend on the Champs Elysees and the Place de la Concorde, yet the atmosphere was warm and convivial. Security forces kept a distance.

“To get a second star (World Cup) after 20 years, it’s just brilliant,” said Tommy Hamon, 23, who was working in Le Deauville, a bar on the Champs Elysees.

Man Earns 150k In Lagos, Wife Earns 750k In Kaduna, Who Should Resign & Relocate?

A Nigerian man and Twitter user @ayobankole is shaking the biggest table in Africa which is the 'table of patriarchy', as he recounted an experience in church today.

According to the man, his church's Pastor asked a question which left many men in support of patriarchy, showing their known sides with their replies. @ayobankole said the question was "If a man earns 150k in Lagos, & woman earns 750k in Kaduna, who should resign & relocate after marriage?”

Read his tweet below and replies from some men;

So my Pastor just asked men in church: “If a man earns 150k in Lagos, & woman earns 750k in Kaduna, who should resign & relocate after marriage?”. Some men insisted the woman should relocate. Na patriarchy dey cause poverty for many men oo!

Imagine make person open him eye see poverty korokoro, & you use leg waka inside because of ego. I felt like slapping the man beside me that raised his hand in support of woman relocating. Oshi o da! Tscheeww

Ayeeee!!! What a sunday! Some men are legit in my mentions defending why the woman should resign because “it is a natural order for the man to give”. Ogun kill nature, Ogun kill order, Ogun kill giving. What is wrong with receiving??

From some men’s reactions to this tweet,I see a huge problem. Men think that it’s just being solely financially responsible in the home that earns a woman’s respect. They also think a wife earning more than them is a problem. Myopic thinking. This isn’t theory,I’ve seen it happen.

I know countless men that have left their jobs to relocate to meet their wives, because their wives had a better life. They eventually caught up, because they had the competence & intellectual acumen. Don’t stick your family in poverty cos of ego. It’s stupid.

A woman will default to you if she knows you are superior intellectually & emotionally, & more importantly, if she knows you are responsible and have her back. If your wife earns 5x more, it creates room for you to chase your dreams, & vice versa. Don’t be trapped in patriarchy.

What really matters is understanding, love, & your own capabilities & behavioural patterns as a man. All of these ofcourse should have been established before marrying. But always remember, it’s not only the money - you can have more money & wifey still disrespects you.

How To Figure Out If You’re In The Wrong Job

$
0
0
There are five common motives that impact the type of job you should have…

Ever have to psych yourself up to go to work? If that’s the case more often than not, your job might not align with your personal motives, says Carter Cast, author of The Right (and Wrong) Stuff: How Brilliant Careers are Made and Unmade.

Strengths are your natural skillsets, and motives are the place from which you draw energy, says Cast. They differ from values, which are what’s important to you. “If you ask someone what their values are, they can rattle them off quickly,” he says. “Motives are much harder to identify because we’re often not conscious of them. They’re the river that flows under us.”

A mismatch in job and motives will wear you down and eventually cause you to fail to live up to your potential, says Cast. “Currently, the assumption is that if you took this job, it’s the right job for you,” says Cast. “But people who are smart, don’t have a skill gap, and are good interpersonally will underperform if they don’t have the energy for the position.”

While employers often assess and measure for competency and strengths, they most likely don’t assess how energized you are by the job. Understanding your motives falls on employees, who need to determine if the job fits, says Cast. Based on the work of Hay Group and Harvard psychologist David McClelland, he identified five common motives, and how they impact the type of job you should seek:

ACHIEVEMENT

Achievement is the need to constantly improve your performance and accomplish goals that are meaningful to you. If you’re highly motivated by achievement, you prefer working in environments with clear performance indicators and tangible progress that can be seen on an ongoing basis, says Cast. You seek feedback in order to improve and advance, and set clear goals, organizing your work effort and measuring your progress.

AFFILIATION

Affiliation is a need for maintaining close, friendly relationships with others, such as in team situations. If you’re highly motivated by affiliation, you’re a team player who is a good listener and sensitive to perspectives of others. You enjoy building team spirit to accomplish goals. Your boss often considers you to be a good barometer for the cultural climate of the team or department and utilizes your inclusive nature to further develop the team’s sense of fellowship.

POWER

Power involves the need to have influence over others. It can be expressed personally or institutionally. People-oriented toward personal power generally seek status and recognition and try to control others, while those with an institutional power drive try to organize the efforts of a team to further the company’s goals. At your best, the power motive pushes you to empower others and move toward accomplishing group goals.

AUTONOMY

Autonomy is the need to control your own work and determine its direction. You prefer having discretion over the task you do, the time you do it, the methods you use, and the team with which you work. Having a motive of autonomy doesn’t necessarily mean you’ll do everything yourself; it can simply mean that you can are able to structure your work.

PURPOSE

The purpose is the need to do work that is tied to a higher cause. You choose organizations and assignments that connect your work to social good that aligns with an important personal value. You are drawn to a place where the purpose is bigger than the product, a place that uses its resources and profits to offer assistance to those in need.

MAKE SURE YOUR MOTIVES MATCH YOUR JOB

To find a good match, list a job’s activities. Give each a green, yellow, or red light–green meaning you enjoy doing it, red meaning you don’t, and yellow meaning you’re ambivalent. Be deliberate and reflective. If you give 70% a green light, 20% a yellow, and 10% a red, the job is a match to your motives, says Cast. Your job should be aligned with your motive structure.

You will likely have more than one motive. Successful management consultants, for example, are typically high in the achievement and power motives and lower in the affiliation motive. Entrepreneurial founders usually have a high achievement motive, and are often motivated by a sense of purpose, as well, says Cast.

Cast suffered his own personal mismatch when he was tapped to be the CEO of Walmart.com. “My interest has always been being a good marketer, and I love to be close to the product,” he says. “The job was offered to me because my boss thought I had leadership qualities. My motives, however, are high on achievement and high on autonomy.”

An important component to being a CEO is having a high power motive, and Cast says that’s a motive where he’s low. “You have to be able to influence other people and wield that power to cajole people into doing what you needed them to do,” he says.

While Cast performed his duties, he was exhausted all of the time. “In hindsight, I realized that just because you can do a job doesn’t mean you should do a job,” he says. “I bought into the progression of my career; it seemed like the next logical step to grab the brass ring.”

By better understanding your drives and motives, you can work your way into positions that match your inherent needs, says Cast. “When you find those positions, the chances are good that you’ll perform well,” he says.

NUT Laments As Teachers Die Of Hunger In Kogi Due To Non-Payment Of Salaries

Kogi State chapter of the Nigeria Union of Teacher, NUT, has lamented the death of hundreds of their members due to hunger and starvation over non-payment of their salaries. The state Chairman of NUT, Comrade Ayodele Thomas, told journalists in Lokoja on Monday that, “teachers are being owed up to 15 to 25 months salaries.”
According to him, “the situation has created some critical health challenges for some members.”
He added also that the state Governor, Yahaya Bello’s directive that teachers’ salaries must be treated on First Line Charge, with not less than 45 percent payment, “was surprising as local government administrators have flagrantly refused to adhere to the directive.” Instead, he said they are paying teachers between 20- 30 percent of their monthly salaries.
Thomas said that the Special Adviser on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs swiftly set up a committee to implement the governor’s directive but regretted that the local government chairmen, along with local government treasurers and some top government officials, were frustrating the effort.
He showed an October 5, 2017 letter from Kogi State Head of Service, entitled: “Computerizing and centralizing of the payroll of the state, local governments workforce and pensioners” where local government administrators and other stakeholders were specifically directed to pay teachers salaries as first line charge from the Joint Account Allocation Committee. Thomas reiterated that the local government bosses still refused to comply with the directive.
He said, “Efforts to meet with the governor, to let him know about the latest development, has not been successful,” alleging that the Secretary to the State Government, Folashade Arike, of not responding to three different memos sent by the NUT to her on the issue. The NUT Chairman pleaded with the state governor “to look into the plights of teachers by directing the local government administrators to comply with his directive.”
He said government officials should stop playing politics with teachers’ salaries. The NUT boss further revealed that some children and wards of teachers in the state can no longer go to school due to lack of payment of salaries. He also claimed that “while other categories of workers in the state collect their minimum wage, primary school teachers have been denied theirs.”

7 Ways To Speed Up Your Android Phone

$
0
0
Like computers, smartphones become slower over time when not properly maintained hence making every missed swipe or extra moment waiting for an app to load feel like an eternity. If you’ve had your Android device for a while, then you’ve probably started to notice some delay in performance that wasn’t there before. This is usually due to an increasing number of applications, processes, and files stored on the device. However, if your Android device is running slowly and you can’t determine why the tips below will help you speed it up.

Clear the Cache

Usually, cached data for apps help them to load more quickly but over time, it can build up and take up quite a lot of space which eventually starts hurting more than it should help. Clearing the cached data helps in making the device perform smoother as it removes old data which usually makes it slow and eventually crashes the device. This method is helpful in the case of big apps like Facebook and Instagram which store tons of images and other data on your device. To clear the cache on your device, head into Settings > Storage>Clear cached data and then tap OK.

Uninstall or Disable Unused Apps

Most Android devices typically have a number of apps pre-installed by the phone manufacturer that is completely unused. Over time, you add more apps that are likely unused hence taking up precious space and slowing down the device. To uninstall such apps, navigate to settings, click on apps, find the app you wish to uninstall and tap uninstall.

Close Unused Apps

Keeping several apps open makes it easy to multitask but closing open apps improve the device’s speed. Just pull up the running apps list that shows the apps that are running, how much memory they are using and close the ones that aren’t needed to be opened.

Don’t Overload the Home Screen

Filling your device’s home screen with live wallpapers and tons of widgets sounds nice but under the hood, they put extra load on the hardware and affect the device’s performance. Thus, it is advisable to keep your home screen as clean as possible because it will make your device perform faster.

Disable Widgets

As with apps, widgets that aren’t needed should be disabled. Though widgets provide animations and special effect to make the device look great, they can also slow down the device.
