How I killed my girlfriend over sex — Suspect

A murder suspect has narrated how he killed his 30-year-old girlfriend, Happiness Winifred, and dumped her body in a well.

Shagbada Erigga made the confession on Tuesday when he was paraded alongside 32 other suspects for various criminal offences at the Oyo State Police Command headquarters, Eleyele, Ibadan.

He said he attacked Happiness because she denied him sex.

The incident, according to him, occurred during a visit by the deceased to his house in Oritoke area of Ojoo, Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.

“She came to my house on Sunday around 7 p.m. After we took our bath, I demanded for sex but she refused and that was what led to the misunderstanding. I told her that every time I wanted to have sex with her would I be begging her? I slapped her and she slapped me back.

“I later gave her three blows on her neck and she fell down and started bleeding. After she died, I took her body and dumped it inside a well. I was caught after one of my neighbours came back from work in the night and wanted to fetched water from the well,

“My neighbour now discovered that the water had been polluted and bringing bad odour, the water was traced and that was how it was discovered that a lady was thrown inside the well. I was later arrested after the case was reported to the police,” the suspects told journalists.

The police said exhibits recovered from the suspects include one cell phone, a wristwatch, chain, hand bag, undies, door key, and a sandal.

Lady Laments As Fine Boy Who Collected Her Number 3 Months Ago Refuses To Woo Her

In a rather hilarious post shared by a Facebook user on the social networking platform, a Nigerian lady has lamented over the dullness of her conversations with a “fine boy” who she gave her number to about three months ago.

According to her, she felt that by this time, the guy who requested for her number would have asked her out and they woulda had a relationship going as of this moment.

But the lady, Mercury, who says she wishes for the year to ‘come and go’, has been left with nothing but total disappointment with the guy who apparently loves to tell her how “Good” every time of the day is.

From the screenshots of their chats she shared, the guy consistently sent her “good morning, afternoon and evening” texts even when she didn’t respond to them.

Now she’s taken to her page to lament over the situation as she wonders whether the said guy is a ghost or something. See her post below,

Preview: Brighton & Hove Albion vs. Manchester United - prediction, team news, lineups

Manchester United switch their focus back to a top-four chase in the Premier League on Tuesday night when they take on Brighton & Hove Albion at the Amex Stadium.

The Red Devils go into the game fresh off the back of reaching a record 30th FA Cup semi-final, but face a Brighton side in encouraging form themselves since the restart.

The Seagulls have beaten Arsenal and then drawn away to third-placed Leicester City so far, although things do not get any easier for them with Manchester United, Liverpool and Manchester City to come in three of the next four.

A record of only one win in 12 matches this calendar year is certainly nothing to brag about, but they will no doubt take confidence from their recent record against teams in the top half of the table.

Indeed, Brighton have avoided defeat in each of their last five meetings with teams currently sitting in the top nine and, while draws may not be good enough for a United side chasing Europe, they are likely to have a much bigger impact at the bottom of the table.

The two results since lockdown so far have edged Graham Potter's side six points from danger and, considering they have already taken points off Tottenham, Wolves, Everton, Chelsea and Arsenal at home this term, they will be optimistic of getting something from Tuesday's game too.

Barcelona Vs Atletico Madrid 2 - 2 - (Full Time)

If Barcelona fails to win and Real continue to win, it will be over before the D-Day.

Barcelona welcome Atletico Madrid to Camp Nou on Tuesday evening with Quique Setien's men now playing catchup in the La Liga title race.

The Blaugrana sit two points behind leaders Real Madrid, and Los Blancos having the better head-to-head record means the gap is effectively three points.

That means Barca can ill-afford any more slip-ups with six games remaining and will surely face a tough encounter against a resurgent Atletico side who have won four and drawn one of their five games since the restart.
These two sides played out an extremely tight game back in December which was settled by a superb Lionel Messi solo goal in the 86th minute.

Before the arrival of Simeone at the helm of Los Rojiblancos, this fixture tended to see Barca run riot with the Catalans scoring 23 times in the five home league games against Atletico prior to the Argentine's appointment.

Atleti have played seven league games at Camp Nou since then, though, conceding just 14 times and the visitors will feel they can keep things tight once more.

Barca's play has been noticeably flat since the resumption of the campaign and if there is one team in the division that knows how to nullify the attacking threat of Setien's men it is Atletico.

"Abia State Has Become Miyetti Allah Cattle Market" - Nnamdi Kanu

The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu, on Monday says Abia State has changed from ‘Gods own state’ to Miyetti Allah-owned cattle market.

He said this in a statement, titled, “Finally the reason why they initiated Operation Python Dance and proscription of IPOB become very clear.”

The statement, which condemned the killings in the South-East, was signed by IPOB’s Media and Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful.

Kanu alleged that the more Fulani herdsmen kill the people of Abia and South-East in general in their land, the more the so-called governors in the region are prepared to give them more land.

He said, “Abia State, from God’s state to Miyetti Allah owned cattle market. Mind you, Lokpanta, in the same Abia, is now a full-fledged Fulani town.

“The more Miyetti Allah terrorists kill us in our land, the more of it the so-called governors are prepared to give to them. What a sick sad joke.

“When the history of Fulani terrorist conquest of Igboland is written in the next 100 years, it will be recalled that a certain group of men called Ohaneze Ndigbo and a band of traitors working for the Caliphate sadly referred to as Igbo governors plotted the Islamic takeover of the land of their ancestors.

“All the Fulani terrorists did was to promise each South-East state governor the same unrealisable slot of Vice President of the Nigeria Republic.

“For this token promise, each governor is now falling over themselves to please the caliphate by ceding our ancestral lands to Fulani Caliphate. These are the workers of iniquity some misguided people want us to regard as elders worthy of respect.”

Nigeria to UK

UK-based Nigerian medical doctor, Dr Funmilayo Harvey was accused of rape by another doctor Dr Bola Aseyan, has responded to the allegation.

In a post he just made on Twitter, the doctor stated that they met on Twitter in 2019 and despite never setting eyes on each other, the relationship was never stable.
Dr Funmilayo responds to rape allegation – We had sex twice
He further revealed that Bola, who is a practicing doctor in Nigeria, and not the UK, insisted on coming to the UK to visit, for reasons best known to her, as her Visa was initially not granted.

According to him, they had consensual sex, twice. The 1st being after they were both drunk, only for her to tell him the next day she didn’t give her consent to the sex they had.

He then mentioned that he specifically asked her if she was insinuating he sexually abused her and she replied saying NO.

In his rebuttal, Harvey wrote on how he accommodated Bola for 4 months in his apartment despite the duo not being in talking terms, and his only crime was him not allowing her into his heart.

I appreciate everyone who has attacked me- just as I may have.

But for now, there’s a war ahead.
No one knows how long a war lasts.

But when all this ends, I will be back here a stronger, better, wiser man.

- El-Rufa'i Copying Ganduje In Fight Against Drug Abuse, Says NDLEA

-As Gov Ganduje destroys fake drugs worth over N380m

Governor Nasiru Ahmed El-Rufa'i of Kaduna state, takes a leaf from governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of Kano state, in the fight against drug abuse, as observed by the National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency, adding that Ganduje's strategy is worth copying.

The observation was made by NDLEA Commandant, Kano office, Dr Ibrahim Abdul, who made this known during a destruction exercise of expired/adulterated packaged food and illicit drugs worth over N380 Million, which took place at NDLEA office Airport road, Tuesday, by governor Ganduje.

Dr Abdul said, "For a very long time, I came to know that it was only Kano state under Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje that we have Special Adviser on the Fight Against Drugs Abuse. But I learned that Kaduna state governor Malam Nasiru El-Rufa'i is copying from Gov. Ganduje in having Special Adviser on the Fight Against Drug Abuse also."

Explaining that, Ganduje's style and strategy in fighting against drug abuse, is commendable and worth copying because of the fruitful results the state is witnessing.

"When governor Ganduje assumed the mantle of leadership, Kano was the first in the list of states with drug abuse. But because of what the governor has been doing to safeguard his state, Kano is now the 6th state in the list. This is highly commendable by all standard," he appreciates.

In his remarks governor Ganduje said his administration attaches importance to the fight against drug abuse, "That was why I directed that all political appointees must go through drug test. All my Commissioners, Permanent Secretaries, Advisers, Heads of Agencies, among others, were tested. NDLEA is here to testify that."

"Because we are determined in this fight, that is why we said we must institutionalise the effort. A Bill is before the State Assembly on Drug Administration Agency. We want have strong institution for that. But then we are not usurping the responsibilities of other federal agencies saddled with this responsibility.

We are only complimenting their efforts. That is why, when established, the Agency would work hand in hand with the federal agencies to achieve drug-free society," he reveals.

While calling on all the agencies responsible for the fight against drug abuse, to partner with each other, he said "Working together as a team is necessary for the success of the effort. All security agencies should also work closely with other agencies to see that we achieve this in our state and the nation in general."

On the relocation of drug sellers from Sabon Gari to the newly established, under construction, Dangwauro World Market, he strongly warned that, "All drug marketers from Sabon Gari must relocate to the new market. Which satisfies the federal government policy on open market for drugs."

Warning further that, he would not take any complaint on trivialities, that, "Whoever has any complaint should come to my office and report. But to complain on trivial issues like the building is not fit for one's business and other such issues, would not be tolerated.

If you have any issue come to my office and I will call on all the stakeholders and discuss it. This is a very strong warning I am putting forth!

He commended all the agencies responsible for the fight against drug abuse, together with all the security agencies and state Agencies like Hisbah, Kano Road Traffic Agency (KAROTA) amongst others.

Folasade Adefisayo, the commissioner for education in Lagos state, says the state is giving out 10,000 radio sets to pupils in underserved communities to continue their schooling.

Speaking with TheCable via a live interview on Sunday evening, Adefisayo said the state government has been in conversations with telecommunications companies to give free or subsidised data to private schools to ensure learning continues from home.

Earlier, First Bank of Nigeria Limited had presented 20,000 units of e-learning devices to the Lagos State government for distribution to schoolchildren willing to learn from home since schools were shut down due to COVID-19.

Speaking on the learning process with the devices, the commissioner said: “We couldn’t have reached every child because not everyone has access to these devices but we are already working on getting across to them”.

“I started crowdfunding efforts with our partners to buy radios and we will start distribution of 10,000 radios tomorrow so that the children can join radio lessons.

“So far, the children have been responding to their teachers on Whatsapp. As for the other devices, the devices from our partners, it has been programmed so that it is only the curriculum that is on them”.

When asked how soon schools were likely to reopen for the third term, Adefisayo said the state government was not the one who closed the schools, but the federal government and only the can open them.

She advised that the education system would change as a result of the pandemic, and there may be a need to rethink school terms to meet current realities.

“Private school owners should accept that school has changed. Learning has moved to another medium. The onus is on private schools to convince parents to join online lessons.

“They should start a subscription-based learning system. We are speaking to telcos on ways to subside data charges for education to help private school owners reduce costs”

The commissioner said the situation across the world is unprecedented and no one has all the answers, but the state has been doing all within its abilities to make life easier and safer for the citizenry.

Gunmen suspected to be sponsored by the Kogi State Government on Wednesday attacked staff of the Federal Medical Centre, Lokoja.

SaharaReporters gathered that the staff were planning a press conference to pressure the Federal Government into establishing a COVID-19 screening centre in the state when the incident took place.

It was learnt that the gunmen shot sporadically into the air to scare people away, then went to the records and admin department where they seized laptops and destroyed a few things. They ransacked the Medical Director’s office, too.

Speaking at a prayer session for the late Nasir Ajana, Kogi Chief Judge, on Tuesday, Governor Yahaya Bello had said COVID-19 was created to shorten the lifestyle of the people.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control has so far announced three cases of COVID-19 in Kogi but the state government has insisted that the state was free of the disease.
